You’re probably wondering who is writing all these words about camping in Colorado…and why you don’t see faces in any of the photos.

I’m an elder millennial who really, really, really wants to be offline these days but survived some very formative years of my life (all of my 20’s through my mid 30’s) sharing my adventures online. My writing was how I processed my trips, remembered the highs and lows, kept track of my pictures, and yes, shared what I was doing with the world. I have cut a lot of my tethers to the online world but I want to keep writing. For me, but also to share. So here I am…

That said, I completely understand why you may want to know a bit more about the person behind these campsite, cabin, hut, gear, and trail reviews (really, let’s be honest, personal recaps!). I am not AI. I am a human who lives in Colorado as a mom, wife, and preschool instructor. My outdoor experience ranges from mountain biking to day hiking to backpacking to van life’ing to tent camping to bike packing to trailer camping to gardening to ultra running to international travel to road tripping. I’ve had about forty years to dabble is all sorts of things and I’ve taken as many opportunities to dabble as I possibly could.

What I share here is personal and authentic to my experiences. I do refence my past adventures (ahem, pre-child) but I will admit, these days I see everything through my “mom lens”. I do a lot with my daughter (we call her Pip here). Pip’s capabilities, curiosities, and abilities impact everything I do these days, there’s no way around it. You will likely get useful information from my campground, cabin, hut, and yurt reviews regardless of you status as a parent (or not) and I do think even my trail insights can be useful to anyone looking for more attainable hikes. Don’t let the “kid-friendly” bits deter you.
